Memory(DIMM) Re-seat / Replacement Instructions for IntelĀ® Server Board S2600WF-based System
Example Symptoms:
Alert notification through BMC Web Console Purlple Screen Of Death(PSOD)


Note: If There is no catastrophic issue (PSOD, unexpected restart), correctable ECC errors (including ADDDC)
that us less than 10 events within every 24 hours for each DIMM location is within threshold. No reseat or replacement is required.
(1) Provide the BMV Debuglog + System Event Log (SEL) as an attachement
- Can be obtained From BMC Web Console > Server Diagnostic Tab and click Genereate Log button
- Another option to generate BMC Debug is to follow the steps below:
- Download and install the System Configuration Utility (SYSCFG). This tool supports EFI, Linux*, and windos*.
- Once installed, run this command:syscfg/sbmcdl public debuglogs.zip
- Afer the debug log is generated, send the file or attach to the case for Intel analysis
(2)DIMM Re-seat and replacement instructions
- Re-seat instructions
- Clear the SEL log frim BMC Web Console>Server Health Tab>Event Log and click Clear Event Log button
- Power OFF the system and remove the AC power cable
- Identify the DIMM location to re-seat by enlarging and reviewing the layout below

- Perform the re-seat for identified DIMM(s)
- Insert AC power cable and power ON the system
- Observe for 24 hours and then generate and send new SEL/debug log to intel
- Replacement instructions
- Clear the SEL log from BMC Web Console>Server Health Tab>Event Log and click Clear Event Log button
- Power off the system and remove the AC power cable
- Identify the DIMM location to replace by enlarging and reviewing the layout below

- Perform replacement for the identified DIMM(s)
- Insert AC power cable.
- Obser for 24 hours and then generate and send new SEL/debug log to Intel
