Why Samsung PM9A3 M.2 NVMe device family does not appear in FRU list. (MiTAC R2520G6, R2513G6 and D50DNP)

Question:

Samsung PM9A3 M.2 NVMe device family does not appear in FRU list. (MiTAC R2520G6, R2513G6 and D50DNP)

 

Andwer:

Samsung PM9A3 family does not follow the Intel FRU protocol, so the BMC cannot read the FRU; this is a known issue.

 

Symptom:

1.     
Samsung PM9A3 M.2 NVMe device does not appear in “ipmitool fru” command.

2.     
But can display temperature in BMC sensor or “ipmitool sdr” command.

Ipmitool fru (Not appear in FRU list)
